Palestinians said troops carried out raids on homes, some of which were turned into military posts after families were forced out.
The operation, announced by the occupation army, targets the so-called “five villages” area — including Tubas, Tammun, Aqraba, Far’a, and Tayasir.
Residents said the raids caused widespread disruption, displacing families, damaging homes, and restricting movement.
Maan News reported intensive Apache and drone flights, aerial gunfire, and road closures with earth mounds that isolated the province.
The occupation army also deployed bulldozers to block main and secondary roads, effectively cutting off Tubas from the surrounding areas.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that a young man was injured after being beaten by Israeli troops in Tammun and was taken to the hospital.
Palestinian authorities said the army restricted movement at the Tayasir and Hamra checkpoints, causing a transportation crisis, and limited access for medical teams to some patients.
Palestinian officials said they coordinated with the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide assistance.
Schools, kindergartens, and all government and private institutions in Tubas were closed.
Palestinian authorities activated emergency committees to monitor residents’ conditions and respond to urgent needs during the operation, which is expected to last several days.
Residents said the raids were part of ongoing attempts at forced displacement, which have intensified since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023. Since January 2025, raids on Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams camps have displaced more than 48,000 Palestinians and destroyed 850 homes.
The operation comes amid a surge in Israeli violence against Palestinians across the West Bank, involving both Israeli troops and settlers.
On Wednesday, in tandem, hundreds of Israeli settlers raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound under the protection of Israeli soldiers.
A United Nations report recorded 264 settler attacks in October 2025, the highest monthly total on record since the start of the Israeli occupation in 1967.
Israeli troops have killed more than 1,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 10,000 more in the West Bank by Israeli forces or settlers since October 2023, according to Palestinian health ministry figures.
