In a statement, Hanno explained that the fire had erupted in the set decorations for shooting the Drama series El-King, located in the studio’s open filming area.
He noted that civil defense teams continue to control the fire using five fire trucks, confirming his ongoing on-site monitoring of the situation inside the studio moment by moment.
The culture minister further directed urgent coordination with the relevant prosecution authorities and civil defense to determine the cause of the fire.
Founded in 1935, Studio Misr is Egypt’s first and most historic film studio, often referred to as the Hollywood of the Middle East.
