With the victory, the Egyptian side are second in Group A with six points, trailing Morocco’s RS Berkane on goal difference. Nigeria’s Rivers United FC and Dynamos are at the bottom of the group, both with no points.
Mohamed 'Bobo' Reda scored the only goal of the game six minutes after halftime, securing a valuable three points for Pyramids FC and extending their perfect start in the group stage.
Pyramids FC applied early pressure, with Fiston Mayele and Walid El Karti both missing early scoring chances.
The Egyptian side dominated possession in the first half, but Dynamos’ solid defense kept them at bay.
In the 24th minute, Dynamos’ winger Daniel Adoko came close to opening the scoring with a powerful shot, but Pyramids goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy made a brilliant save, tipping the ball out for a corner.
Pyramids FC were forced into an early substitution when goalkeeper El-Shenawy sustained an injury just before halftime. He was replaced by Mahmoud Gad.
After the break, Pyramids FC continued their dominance. Reda received a pass from Mayele, which was deflected by the defense before falling to Reda, who blasted the ball into the net to give Pyramids a 1-0 lead six minutes into the second half.
Four minutes later, Reda missed a clear chance to double the lead when his strike from outside the box narrowly missed the right post.
Winger Mahmoud Zalaka also came close to adding a second, but his powerful shot from inside the area was blocked by Dynamos’ defense.
Dynamos nearly snatched an equalizer in the final minute when substitute Kapembwa Musonda fired a shot from outside the area, but it sailed over the bar, leaving Pyramids to hold on for the 1-0 win.
