Last days of the 18th Panorama of the European Film

Panorama kicked off on 27 November and will close on 6 December.

The 18th edition presents the latest award-winning European films and retrospective classics.

This year’s Panorama will present more than 30 titles across feature narrative and feature documentary sections, in addition to a special Joachim Trier retrospective.

Several screenings will be accompanied by discussions and Q&As with participating filmmakers, offering audiences the chance to engage directly with the creators.

Hauser - music
Thursday 4 December, 8pm
Grand Egyptian Museum

The Croatian cellist has performed in more than 40 countries throughout his two-decade career, appearing at major venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and the Southbank Centre. 

Born into a musical family, he studied at Trinity College of Music in London, completed postgraduate work at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and later in the United States. 

Hauser first gained widespread attention in 2009 with his YouTube channel, where he challenged traditional industry norms, and achieved a breakthrough in 2011 with his cello cover of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal alongside Luka Šulić, with whom he formed a duo called 2Cellos.

Hauser has released nine solo albums since 2010 and collaborated with leading soloists, conductors, and orchestras.

Steve Barakatt - music

Steve Barakatt is a Canadian composer, pianist, and producer known for his lyrical blend of classical, pop, and cinematic music. Born in Quebec City, he began performing professionally as a teenager and went on to tour extensively across more than 40 countries. 

He is the creator of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund's (UNICEF) Lullaby, a global humanitarian music project recorded in over 100 countries. 

Barakatt is also known for popular piano pieces such as Rain, establishing his international reputation. 

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with major orchestras and artists worldwide, earning recognition for both his musical achievements and his humanitarian work.



Lege-Cy - music

Lege-Cy is an Egyptian rapper, singer, and music producer known for his introspective lyrics and ability to handle all aspects of his music, from production to performance. 

Lege-Cy has released several EPs, including 181-191 (2019) and Agzakhana (2020), and is recognized for his unique versatility within the Egyptian hip-hop scene.

Ali El Haggar - music
Monday 8 December, 8pm
Cairo Opera House, main hall, Zamalek, Cairo

Veteran singer Ali El-Haggar is one of the best-known singers in Egypt and the Arab world over the past four decades.

His songs carry lyrics drawn from the poetry of Salah Jahin, Abdel-Rahman El-Abnoudy, and Sayed Hegab to music by the country's most renowned composers, such as Baligh Hamdy, Sayed Mekkawy, Omar Khairat, among others.

Some of his most popular hits are Arfa (Do You Know), Hona Al-Qahera (Here is Cairo), and Dehket Al-Masageen (The Prisoners’ Laughter). 

Ghassan Yammine: Charles Aznavour Tribute Concert

Ghassan Yammine is an award-winning Lebanese singer, pianist, songwriter, and composer. 

He founded and serves as general director of a network of arts schools across Lebanon affiliated with leading European and American institutions. He has performed widely across the Arab World, Europe, Africa, and North America. 

His honors include the National Order of the Lebanese Cedar, the Lebanese Presidency Medal, and France’s Gold Medal of Honor for Arts, Science, and Literature.
