“I am very sorry to share that I won’t be able to perform my concert at the Grand Egyptian Museum this Friday, 5 December. I’m currently dealing with acute tonsillitis and, at my doctor’s orders, I need to take some time to rest and recover,” the soprano wrote on her Facebook page.

She added that she is already arranging a new date for the performance, which will be announced soon.

“If refunds are requested, the ticketing partner will shortly announce the policy,” she said.

“I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience this causes. I want to make sure that when I perform for you, I’m at my very best and able to give you the performance you deserve. Your support means the world to me, and I can’t wait to sing for you again as soon as I’m well enough,” wrote Said.

The concert was to mark her return to the Grand Egyptian Museum, where she first performed in 2022, becoming the first Egyptian female artist to take the stage before the GEM officially opened to the public.

The performance was set to feature the United Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nader Abbassi.

This would have been one of her many collaborations with Abbassi, with whom she recently performed at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 23 November in a concert dedicated to the music of Mohamed Abdel-Wahab.
