The Ministry of Education now fully supervises the school.
According to the referral order, the defendant faces charges of kidnapping by deception and indecent assault.
Investigators said he lured five kindergarten children into a small room attached to the school’s garden and assaulted them.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, who worked as a gardener at the school, repeatedly assaulted the children, exploiting his presence in the garden during the early hours of the school day.
According to police investigations, he committed the acts before the morning assembly began, and away from any supervisors.
The case file includes a full list of evidence, including the testimonies of the young victims and their families, as well as the forensic doctor’s report documenting injuries consistent with the children’s accounts.
Further evidence includes the testimony of the investigating police officer, who confirmed the details of the incident and concluded that the assaults took place inside the room attached to the garden.
The prosecution reviewed complaints submitted by parents alleging repeated sexual assaults and inappropriate touching of their children. It also heard their statements, in which they said they had noticed psychological and behavioural changes in their children before filing complaints.
The defendant was interrogated by the prosecution and confronted with police findings and forensic reports, but he denied all charges.
The case dates back to reports filed in late November by several parents who said that four KG2 children — three girls and a boy — had been assaulted on the grounds of the well-known Alexandria Language School (ALS).
The incident emerged shortly after the Seeds International School scandal in Cairo, where kindergarten children were reportedly assaulted by a group of workers, a case that has shocked Egyptian society over the past two weeks.
A fifth child was later added to the Alexandria case, according to the victims’ lawyer Tarek El-Awady, who said on Wednesday that forensic examinations confirmed the children had been subjected to sexual assault.
In another related development, the Ministry of Education announced it had placed Alexandria Language School under full administrative and financial supervision, as it had done with Seeds School, after allegations that a worker committed inappropriate acts involving students.
Earlier this week, the school's administration issued a statement saying that student safety is its top priority and outlined measures taken immediately after the allegations.
The school said it fully cooperated with investigators, suspended the accused worker, banned male staff from student areas, increased supervision and camera monitoring, and tightened campus security.
It also launched awareness programmes for students under psychological and educational supervision. The school stressed respect for the ongoing investigation, pledged to issue updates only through official statements, and affirmed its support for students and families, emphasising that parents’ trust is central to its mission.
