A number of Egyptian players and officials, including national team coach Hossam Hassan, have expressed their support for Mohamed Salah following his public fallout with Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot.

In an explosive interview after being left on the bench for Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Leeds, Salah revealed that his relationship with Slot is broken.

The comments came after the Egyptian forward was dropped for the third consecutive match, as Liverpool’s struggling manager seeks solutions to a run of just four wins in 15 games across all competitions.

Pharaohs coach Hossam Hassan posted a photo with Salah on his official Facebook account, captioning it: “Always a symbol of power and determination.”

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) also posted a photo of Salah on their official Facebook account, featuring the slogan “Egyptian King,” a title used by Liverpool fans for Salah.

They added the message, “You will never walk alone,” in a show of support for the forward.

Ahly winger Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan shared an Instagram story calling Salah a “Legend.”

Al-Ettifaq striker Ahmed Hassan Kouka has also shown his support for Egypt captain Mohamed Salah, posting a photo with the forward on social media and describing him as a football legend alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Former Pharaohs and Aston Villa fullback Ahmed El-Mohamady also weighed in, criticizing Slot’s treatment of Salah.

Speaking to BeIN Sports during a Premier League game, El-Mohamady described the decision to bench Salah for three consecutive matches as “illogical” and “disrespectful” to one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players.

“Being on the bench for three consecutive games is illogical,” El-Mohamady said.

“Salah is one of the best players in Liverpool’s history, and Slot’s behavior towards him is not acceptable. It shows a lack of respect for the player.”

On Instagram, Ahly and Pharaohs winger Ahmed ‘Zizo’ Sayed posted, “The greatest legend in Liverpool’s history,” while teammate Mohamed Hany wrote, “The legend of all time,” under a photo of Salah.

Salah, who joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017, has been pivotal to the club’s recent success, helping secure two Premier League titles, ending a 30-year wait for the championship in 2020, and winning the UEFA Champions League in 2019.

In April, following a standout performance that helped Liverpool clinch a title in Slot’s debut season, Salah was rewarded with a lucrative new two-year contract.

However, the Egyptian star has struggled to recapture his best form this season, scoring just five goals in 19 appearances.

An undoubted Liverpool legend, only two players have scored more than Salah's 250 goals for the 20-time English champions.

Salah’s candid and revealing post-match interview after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw at Leeds has sparked a divided response from English football pundits and fans. While some have heavily criticized his remarks, others have rallied behind Salah, viewing him as a victim of scapegoating amidst the club’s ongoing struggles.
