Egyptians felt sudden tremor as 5.24-magnitude quake hits southern Turkey

Egyptians felt a sudden tremor on Monday as a 5.24-magnitude earthquake struck near Turkey’s Antalya coast, according to the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG).

NRIAG said the quake was recorded at 12:21:30 p.m. local time, occurring 15 kilometers from Antalya at a depth of 11.39 kilometers.

The institute placed the epicenter at latitude 36.89°N and longitude 30.99°E.

Although the tremor was felt in parts of Egypt, NRIAG confirmed that no casualties or property damage were reported.
