The film, which has been selected as Tunisia’s official submission for the Oscars, has been one of the most talked-about titles of the current awards season.
It is a powerful and unsettling reconstruction of the final, tragic hours of six-year-old Hind Rajab, a Palestinian girl killed by Israeli forces in Gaza in January 2024 after being trapped in a car with her family members.
Using the actual audio recording of Hind's phone call from the car, the film creates a striking cinematic experience that captures silence, fear, and waiting, transforming the child’s voice into a universal symbol of innocence confronting violence.
The film had its world premiere at the 82nd edition of the renowned Venice Film Festival, where it won Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize and received a standing ovation lasting more than 20 minutes — a record in the festival’s history.
This year's Golden Globe nominations also include four nods for Iranian director Jafar Panahi's Cannes Palme d’Or winner, It Was Just An Accident.
The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, 11 January 2026 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Across the main motion picture categories (Drama, Musical/Comedy, Non-English Language, Animated, and Cinematic/Box Office Achievement), a total of 34 films have been nominated this year. The biggest contender across all the film categories is the war epic One Battle After Another, which leads the field with nine nominations.
