In talks in Cairo, Abdelatty and Bigot addressed the conflict in the occupied Palestinian territories.
A statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's firm position against the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and any alteration of the territory's geographical and demographic status.
He emphasized Cairo's commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which calls for a stable ceasefire, unfettered humanitarian access, and preparations for an international stabilization force.
The minister also stressed the importance of forming a Palestinian technocratic government as a step towards the Palestinian Authority reassuming governance in Gaza.
He noted that Egypt was involved in training Palestinian police personnel.
Discussions included the urgent need to increase the volume of daily humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip, where the UN has repeatedly warned of a severe humanitarian crisis.
The meeting concluded with Minister Abdelatty briefing the EU envoy on the second-phase obligations of the Trump plan.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to ongoing coordination with regional and international partners to support the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 lines.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continued consultations to ensure coordinated positions and support the political process amid the sensitive circumstances surrounding the Palestinian issue.
