According to a statement by the Egyptian Presidency, the two leaders discussed the strong ties between Egypt and Bahrain and ways to continue strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
They also discussed developments in the region, most importantly in Gaza.
El-Sisi and Al Khalifa emphasized the urgent need to begin reconstruction efforts to help the people of Gaza resume their normal lives following months of devastation.
They also reiterated their categorical rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land, stressing that the Palestinian cause will remain a top Arab and international priority.
Moreover, the two sides emphasized the importance of fully implementing the US plan endorsed by the UN Security Council Resolution 2803, viewing it as a framework for achieving a just and comprehensive settlement to the conflict.
In conclusion, the Egyptian Presidency stated that El-Sisi and Al Khalifa agreed to continue consultations amidst the challenges facing the region. They also emphasized the importance of Arab cooperation in protecting the region and safeguarding the interests of its peoples.
