The Eagles of Carthage, drawn in a challenging Group C alongside Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania, will launch their campaign on 23 December against Uganda, followed by a clash against Nigeria on 27 December and conclude their group stage against Tanzania three days later, as they pursue a first continental title since 2004.
The tournament runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, with Tunisia seeking a strong showing as they target a return to the latter stages.
Jaziri, 32, is a seasoned international, having represented Tunisia in 43 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing one assist, with his most recent appearance in the FIFA Arab Cup.
Ahly’s 26-year-old midfielder Ben Romdhane has been a regular fixture in the national squad, featuring in 54 games, scoring seven goals and contributing three assists since his first call-up in 2019.
Trabelsi made a notable inclusion of veteran left-back Ali Maaloul, 35, who recently returned to the national team setup during the FIFA Arab Cup after a long absence.
His experience adds depth to a defensive line that already includes Yassine Meriah, Montassar Talbi, and Mohamed Ben Ali.
The squad receives further boosts with the return of influential midfielders Ellyes Skhiri and Hannibal Mejbri, both recovering in time to reinforce Tunisia’s structure and creativity ahead of the continental showpiece.
Trabelsi maintained continuity by keeping much of the core group that featured in recent international fixtures, including the FIFA Arab Cup campaign.
