Egypt, France launch multi-day 'Cleopatra-2025' naval exercise in French waters
The Egyptian and French navies have begun a multi-day joint naval exercise, dubbed Cleopatra-2025, in French territorial waters, as part of ongoing military cooperation between the two countries.

Egypt’s military spokesperson stated that the drills include theoretical and practical training focused on joint maritime operations, operational planning, and the management of combined naval activities. The exercise also covers scenarios involving non-traditional maritime threats.
According to the spokesperson, the manoeuvres aim to improve operational skills and facilitate the exchange of expertise between participating forces.
The exercise falls within the Egyptian Armed Forces' broader programme of joint military training with foreign partners, which Cairo says is intended to enhance coordination and interoperability across different areas of defence cooperation.
