Love and War revolves around a love story unfolding amid Israel's two-year genocidal war on Gaza, where hope becomes the final weapon and survival itself a form of victory.

Bakri’s breakthrough came with Omar (2013), directed by Hany Abu-Assad, which was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Tanit d’Or at the Carthage Film Festival (2014) and the Special Jury Prize in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section (2013), among other honors. Bakri also received the Best Actor Award at the Malmö Arab Film Festival (2013).

He has since appeared in several notable productions, including Ali and Nino (2016), Slam (2018), Official Secrets (2019), A Gaza Weekend (2022), and All That’s Left of You, which won the Silver Yusr for Best Feature Film at the Red Sea International Film Festival in December 2025.

Bakri was recently in Egypt for the 46th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF, 12–21 November), where he held a discussion titled Adam Bakri: Between Identity and Performance, focusing on his unique cinematic journey.

Love and War also stars a lineup of prominent Arab and international actors, including Menna Shalaby, Eyad Nassar, and Palestinian actor Kamel El-Basha.

The series is directed by Peter Mimi, known for major TV productions such as El Ekhteyar (The Choice) and El Hashashin, and written by Ammar Sabry.

Love and War is scheduled for release during Ramadan 2026, which is expected to fall between 18 February and 19 March, subject to the official moon sighting.
