"The Egyptian Football Association reached an agreement with coach Rui Vitoria to end the ongoing dispute between the two sides," the EFA said in a statement,
The EFA said the agreement was reached at the headquarters of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, adding that both parties expressed mutual appreciation for each other’s commitment to securing the deal.
"The EFA also thanks Rui Vitoria for the dedication and professionalism he demonstrated during his tenure as head coach of the Egyptian national team," the statement added.
The Portuguese coach took charge of Egypt in July 2022 on a contract that was due to run until the summer of 2026.
The EFA dismissed him in February 2024 after Egypt’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Vitoria later filed a case with CAS seeking payment of the full value of his contract, while the EFA maintained it was only liable to pay the termination clause.
During his tenure, Vitoria led Egypt in 18 matches, winning 12, drawing five and losing once.
Egyptian coach Hossam Hassan replaced him on 6 February, with Egypt qualifying for the 2025 AFCON finals and the 2026 World Cup.
