NEA Executive Director Ahmed Bandari said the complaints were filed during polling on Tuesday and were addressed immediately.

According to Bandari, eight complaints involved overcrowding at polling stations and were resolved by deploying reserve staff. Nine allegations of voter guidance were investigated and found to be unsubstantiated, while six complaints related to candidate representatives being barred from polling stations were resolved after confirming their right of entry.

One complaint alleging vote-buying was referred to the Ministry of Interior for legal action, Bandari said.

Speaking during a live broadcast from the NEA’s operations room, Bandari said the authority monitored the voting process in coordination with subcommittee heads and responded to reports submitted through its hotline and by political parties.

Polling officially ended at 9pm, he said, noting that stations where voters were still present remained open until the final ballot was cast.

Run-off voting is taking place in 55 constituencies across 13 governorates, with 202 candidates competing for 101 seats in the House of Representatives. The race includes 84 party-affiliated candidates and 118 independents.

The second phase follows first-round voting, in which 40 candidates won seats outright, while contests in 18 constituencies were decided without run-offs.

The governorates covered in the second phase include Cairo, Qalioubiya, Daqahliya, Menoufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai.
