Ahly took the lead just before halftime, with Omar Kamal firing a powerful strike from inside the box in the 41st minute.
However, WE SC equalized in the 82nd minute, as Mostafa Fawzi struck from inside the area to level the score at 1-1.
The match went into extra time, and Ahly's hopes of advancing were further dashed when winger Taher Mohamed Taher was sent off with a second yellow card just five minutes into the first extra time period.
Fawzi then sealed the win for WE SC in the 110th minute, scoring with a powerful shot from outside the area to send his team into the next round.
Despite dominating possession in the first half, Ahly were unable to hold on to their lead, and the match ultimately ended with the elimination of the Red Devils.
