This came during the UN Security Council session on Monday, following Israel's decision to recognize the breakaway region of Somaliland at the request of Somalia.
In his address, the Somali representative strongly condemned Israel's blatant violation of Somali territorial integrity, warning that any attempt to undermine Somalia's sovereignty would have a negative impact on the entire region.
During his address, Abukar Dahir emphasized that Israel's recognition of Somaliland is invalid and threatens Somalia's territorial unity, calling on Security Council members to take a stand against this act, which he described as illegal.
The Somali representative to the Security Council reiterated his country's position rejecting any attempt by Israel to resettle Palestinians from Gaza in Somalia, calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and noting that peace can only be achieved through respect for international law.
