Two Palestinians were killed Friday in separate attacks in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, Maan News reported. Firas Ahmed Mohammed Abu Shanab, in his 20s, was shot in the Talhiya area east of Khan Younis,
Another Palestinian, displaced resident Ahmed Hossam Zidan Naeem of Beit Hanoun, died at Ahmed Abdulaziz School after Israeli forces opened fire in southern Khan Younis.
In addition, an infant died at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City due to the severe cold, while Palestinians mourned the deaths of an elderly woman and her grandson from the Abu Khair family, who were killed when one of the tents they were sheltering in at Yarmouk Stadium was set on fire, Maan News reported.
Al Qahera correspondent in Gaza, Bashir Jabr, reported intense attacks across the destroyed Gaza Strip.
Israeli helicopter gunships targeted eastern Khan Younis, while military vehicles increased fire on the city’s southern districts, hitting the al-Nemsawy neighbourhood and Batn al-Samin area. Several wounded, including women and children, were taken to Nasser Medical Complex for treatment, Jabr said.
Eastern Rafah also saw repeated demolitions of residential blocks, alongside heavy fire in western neighbourhoods, particularly Al-Mawasi. Artillery struck the eastern parts of the central Gaza governorate, including southeastern Deir al-Balah and the Maghazi and Bureij refugee camps.
One Palestinian was also killed in Jabalia in northern Gaza, an area under near-daily fire from Israeli forces, Jabr said.
Israel's ongoing genocidal war has killed at least 71,271 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 171,230 others since October 7, 2023, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
Hospitals reported receiving two bodies in the past 24 hours — one who succumbed to recent injuries and another recovered from rubble — and one injured patient. Officials warned the toll may be higher, as many remain trapped under destroyed buildings or in areas inaccessible due to continued Israeli strikes.
Since a ceasefire took effect on 10 October, Israel has killed at least 416 Palestinians and injured over 1,153, with emergency crews recovering 683 bodies across the territory.
Hospitals have continued to operate under severe strain, facing shortages of medical supplies, fuel, and staff, hampering emergency response.
The humanitarian crisis is worsening as Israel announced it will ban 37 aid groups from Gaza unless they hand over detailed information on Palestinian staff, a move widely condemned as collective punishment that further endangers civilians.
