The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) dispatched its 110th aid convoy to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, delivering 5,600 tonnes of emergency assistance, including food, medical supplies, fuel and winter aid, the organization said.

According to the ERC, the convoy included more than 3,400 tonnes of food parcels and flour, 700 tonnes of medical and relief supplies, 200 tonnes of personal hygiene items, and around 1,300 tonnes of fuel.

The convoy also carried winter supplies aimed at easing the impact of harsh weather conditions, including 19,700 items of winter clothing and 200 mattresses, the ERC said.

The ERC acts as Egypt’s national coordination body for humanitarian assistance entering Gaza.

The aid was sent amid a worsening humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territory, where civilians face severe shortages of food, medical care, and shelter following repeated Israeli strikes and prolonged displacement.

Humanitarian conditions have been further strained by winter weather, widespread damage to infrastructure, and the near-collapse of health services, aid agencies have warned.

The situation deteriorated further after Israel banned the operations of 37 international non-governmental organizations working in Gaza.

The ERC said Egypt has delivered more than 780,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza over the past 760 days, including food, fuel, medical supplies, tents, and winter relief items. The response has involved coordination with 59 countries, 943 relief flights, and 617 maritime aid shipments.

Since late July, ERC convoys under the Zad El-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza initiative have carried over 234,000 tonnes of assistance, the organization said. Egypt has also facilitated the entry of 214 ambulances into Gaza, supplied about 91,000 tonnes of fuel for hospitals and essential services, and coordinated the deployment of four field hospitals.

Inside Gaza, the ERC said it has supported displaced families and medical cases through relief distribution, cash assistance, medical care, and family-link restoration services.

Since the Israel-Hamas ceasefire—brokered by Cairo, Doha, Ankara, and Washington—was signed on 10 October, Israeli occupation forces have killed at least 416 Palestinians and wounded 1,153 others in the strip, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry, bringing the overall Palestinian death toll since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023 to 71,266, at minimum.
