Defence Minister Saqr meets Libyan National Army deputy commander in Cairo
Egypt’s Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel-Meguid Saqr met in Cairo with Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, deputy commander-in-chief of the Libyan National Army, to discuss military cooperation and regional security, the Egyptian Armed Forces said on Saturday.

According to the statement, the talks focused on coordination between the Egyptian and Libyan armed forces, as well as regional and international developments affecting security and stability, particularly in Libya.
Haftar also held separate talks with Egypt’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, as part of his visit to Egypt.
The meetings addressed shared security concerns and ways to strengthen bilateral military ties.
Khalifa said Egypt views cooperation with Libyan military forces as a priority and stressed the need for joint efforts to counter threats to Libya’s security and stability.
For his part, Haftar praised Egypt’s role in supporting Libya’s territorial integrity and stability, according to the statement.
Senior military commanders from both sides attended the meetings.
