The CIBF will run from 21 January to 3 February 2026.
Murat Gatin, assistant to the president of the Republic of Tatarstan and deputy chairman of the Strategic Vision Group, said the first event will take place at 6pm on 25 January and will include a presentation of the poetry collection My Mother’s Shadow by Chechen poet Suleiman-Hadji Utaev, translated into Arabic by Dr Mohamed Nasr El-Gebaly.
The second event will be held at 4pm on 1 February and will feature a roundtable discussion on the folktale Su Anase (The Bride of the Lake and the Golden Comb) by Tatar poet Abdullah Tokay, translated into Arabic by Egyptian writer Dr Ashraf Abu El-Yazid.

Gatin expressed his appreciation to Dr Ahmed Megahed, director of the Cairo International Book Fair, for his generous support of the initiative.
He also invited readers interested in translated literature, poetry, and children’s literature to attend the events, noting that the specific halls will be announced at the opening of the international book fair.
