The 29-year-old joined Ahly from Pyramids FC in 2019 and quickly became one of the team’s key players, earning special status among supporters after scoring the winning goal against Zamalek in the 2020 Champions League final.

However, he later fell out of favor under former coaches Marcel Koller and Jose Riveiro, as well as current head coach Jess Thorup.

He made 277 appearances for Ahly across all competitions, scoring 45 goals and providing 50 assists.

Afsha also sent a farewell message to Ahly supporters ahead of his loan move, reflecting on his time at the club.

“The journey was full of great moments, from the CAF Champions League and the Egyptian League to the FIFA Club World Cup,” Afsha wrote on his Instagram account on Tuesday.

“I want to tell Ahly fans that I will miss you, and I hope this farewell is only for a short period, so I can return as I was before and even better,” he added.
