The EBF said Bosch was selected after reviewing a number of candidates.
The 54-year-old has previous experience in Egypt, having coached the Cairo’s two biggest clubs, Ahly and Zamalek, between 2020 and 2025.
He led Zamalek to the domestic league title and the Basketball Africa League (BAL) crown in 2021 before moving to rivals Ahly.
With Ahly, Bosch won league titles in 2022, 2023 and 2025, the club’s first since 2016, and added the BAL title in 2023.
Bosch left Ahly in the summer of 2025 and subsequently took charge of Indonesian club Dewa United Banten before being named Egypt coach.
