Will Smith explores timeless wonders of Egypt’s Giza Pyramids

Hollywood star Will Smith turned his vacation in Egypt into a journey through history, visiting the iconic Giza Pyramids in a high-profile tour that highlighted the world’s enduring fascination with ancient Egyptian civilization.

The Oscar-winning actor was accompanied by senior antiquities officials and welcomed by Mohamed Ismail Khaled, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, who gave Smith an in-depth introduction to the secrets and archaeological significance of the site.

The briefing covered the historical importance of the pyramids and Egypt’s latest archaeological discoveries, reflecting the country’s rich heritage.

During the visit, Smith engaged in detailed discussions about ancient construction techniques and historical context, showing genuine curiosity.

He expressed admiration for the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians and said he plans to return to Egypt in the spring with his family to explore the country’s cultural legacy further.

The tour continued with Ashraf Mohie El-Din, director general of Giza Antiquities, who escorted Smith inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu.

Smith explored its internal chambers and corridors, paused to take commemorative photos, and marvelled at the monument’s architectural brilliance.

He described the experience as awe-inspiring, praising the pyramid as a timeless testament to one of the greatest civilizations in human history.

The visit also recalled Smith’s previous trip to Egypt in 2017, when he travelled with his family and shared images in front of the pyramids. At the time, he described the sunrise over the Giza Plateau as one of the most unforgettable moments of his life, emphasizing the unmatched beauty of the pyramids.
