The meeting comes as part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts, under the directives of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, to follow up on the outcomes of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and support the Palestinian committee tasked with administering the Gaza Strip
During the meeting, Rashad reaffirmed Egypt’s continued commitment to the success of the committee’s work and its readiness to provide support to enable it to carry out its assigned tasks.
For their part, Shaath and the Gaza committee members expressed appreciation for Egypt’s sustained efforts regarding Gaza, praising President El-Sisi’s positions, particularly in rejecting the displacement of Palestinians and in preserving the Palestinian cause.
They agreed that the committee’s priorities focus on improving humanitarian and living conditions in the Gaza Strip and stressed the importance of opening all border crossings to allow the entry of the largest possible amount of humanitarian aid, relief supplies, and essential goods.
The meeting also reviewed the necessary steps for the committee to assume its full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip.
On Friday, in an exclusive interview, Shaath told Al-Qahera News that "the formation of the committee is crucial for the future of the Palestinian people." He added that the members of the committee will immediately move to Gaza to carry out their administrative and relief duties in the strip as soon as possible.
