The calls included Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar. They focused on coordinating regional responses to the ongoing Gaza crisis.
The ministers discussed implementing the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, including support for the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and the deployment of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to monitor the ceasefire.
The administrative committee, composed of Palestinian technocrats and intended to serve as a transitional authority in Gaza, is a central part of phase two, along with the deployment of the ISF and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the territory.
They emphasized the urgent need to accelerate early recovery and reconstruction while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
On 14 January, the White House announced the launch of Phase 2 following intensive talks mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. The announcement came 14 weeks after the first phase of the ceasefire, which resulted in the release of all living and deceased Israeli captives.
Beyond Gaza, the foreign ministers highlighted the importance of de-escalation across the wider Middle East, calling for diplomatic and political solutions to regional conflicts.
They agreed that such measures would better serve regional security and stability while safeguarding the interests and safety of the region’s populations.
