Egypt offers deep condolences to Spain after deadly train collision

Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday offered condolences to the government and people of Spain following a train collision in southern Spain that killed dozens and injured many.

In a statement, the ministry expressed sympathy for the victims and their families and extended Egypt’s support during the tragedy.

“The Republic of Egypt conveys its sincere condolences to the government and people of the Kingdom of Spain over the victims of the train accident in the south of the country and expresses deep sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing a swift recovery for the injured,” the statement read.

 

Egypt reaffirmed its solidarity with Spain and its commitment to support the country during this difficult time.

The accident occurred on Sunday near Adamuz, in the province of Córdoba, when two high-speed trains derailed and collided.

At least 39 people have been confirmed dead, with dozens more injured. Emergency services continue rescue and medical operations, and several of the wounded remain in serious condition at nearby hospitals.
