Spanning 70,000 square metres, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 10 million one-litre aseptic cardboard containers, 75,000 daily cardboard boxes, and 400,000 tonnes of corrugated cardboard sheets.
According to an SCZone statement released on Tuesday, the project is expected to create approximately 2,000 direct jobs, with half of the output destined for export markets and the remainder serving domestic demand.
The new project marks Eroğlu Global Holding's fourth project in Qantara West, making it the zone's largest industrial investor. The diversified Turkish group operates across textiles, energy, retail, and real estate sectors.
Eroğlu owns two international brands with over 1,000 stores worldwide, including 15 in Egypt. The company plans to expand its Egyptian retail presence to 100 stores within five years.
Its existing Qantara West projects include a $40 million Eroğlu-owned garment facility, a $51 milllion Ready-Made Garments project, and another factory for $5.6 million.
The new agreement brings the total number of signed projects in Qantara West to 52, representing $1.53 billion in investments across 3.537 million square metres and creating nearly 72,665 direct job opportunities, according to SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din.
Once fully operational, the industrial zone's projects are estimated to generate $3–4 billion in annual export revenue.
The government has invested approximately EGP 15 billion ($485 million) in infrastructure and equipment to attract investors to the area.
Such moves align with Egypt’s strategy to boost total exports to $115.8 billion by 2030, support foreign-currency inflows, reduce pressure on public finances, increase exports to $145 billion, and double the contribution of foreign direct investment (FDI) to GDP to 4.4 percent over the next four years.
The cabinet has also directed export councils to prepare plans to raise non-oil exports by 15–20 percent annually through 2030.
