The event opened in central Paris in coordination with the City of Paris and the Egyptian Embassy, and was attended by Egypt’s ambassador to France, Tarek Dahroug, alongside diplomats and figures from France’s cultural and artistic circles.
Speaking at the opening, Dahroug said the showcase reflected the depth of long-standing Egyptian-French cultural ties, shaped over centuries through exchanges in knowledge, art, and scholarship.
He highlighted the installation Mirror Gate II, produced by Egyptian company Marmonil, which is being displayed in the Louvre Square after a previous exhibition near the Pyramids of Giza. Dahroug said the work symbolically links Cairo and Paris, as well as their historic landmarks.
The ambassador said the programme will continue in mid-February with a second phase titled The Mystery of Egypt, featuring photographic works by Egyptian artists focused on everyday life in Egypt. He said the next phase aims to expand the presence of contemporary Egyptian culture in the French capital.
