Abdelatty made his comments during a series of side meetings with Arab and international officials at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

The Egyptian foreign minister held separate discussions with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, and Dutch Foreign Minister David van Wiel.

During the meetings, Abdelatty urged the swift implementation of the requirements of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan.

These requirements include supporting the recently formed National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) and deploying the International Stabilization Force (ISF) to monitor the ceasefire implementation.

The ministers also exchanged views on Trump's initiative to establish a Board of Peace in Gaza, according to a foreign ministry statement.

Additionally, the discussions covered bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, trade, and investment sectors, as well as regional challenges including the Iranian nuclear programme and the war in Sudan.

On Iran, Minister Abdelatty urged building trust between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to create opportunities for diplomatic solutions and a comprehensive nuclear agreement that serves regional security.

Regarding Sudan, Abdelatty called for a humanitarian truce leading to a comprehensive ceasefire, stressing the need to preserve the nation's sovereignty and ensure humanitarian aid delivery to affected populations.
