Under the title Voices of the Century, Plácido Domingo and José Carreras will revisit a repertoire ranging from the greatest opera arias to Spanish zarzuelas, alongside the “crossover” pieces that brought them widespread popular success.
The concert will also evoke memories of the legendary trio The Three Tenors, which consisted of the two Spanish tenors alongside Italian star Luciano Pavarotti, who passed away in 2007.
While the presence of the two masters is the evening’s main attraction, the event will also feature Egyptian soprano Fatma Said and Greek soprano Christina Poulitsi.
The artists will be accompanied by a world-renowned orchestra conducted by Italian maestro Francesco Ivan Ciampa.
The City of Arts and Culture
The City of Arts and Culture in Egypt’s New Capital includes a state-of-the-art Opera House, considered one of the largest in the Middle East, with multiple performance spaces. Designed as a major cultural hub, it blends modern architecture with artistic functions and aims to boost Egypt’s role in regional and global arts.
In recent months, the City of Arts and Culture has hosted several notable events. The fifth She Arts Festival (October 2025) opened with a concert by Spanish band La Maruja Limóna and a performance by renowned Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji, accompanied by musician Osama Rahbani and an orchestra conducted by George Kolta.
A month later, the Nordic Pulse event featuring Estonian conductor and composer Kristjan Järvi took place in the Opera Hall, followed by the St Petersburg Eifman Ballet’s performance of The Pygmalion Effect.
