Nantes Egyptian forward #31 Mostafa Mohamed (L) celebrates scoring his team s first goal during the French L1 football match. AFP
Mohamed converted a cross from Chidozie Awaziem, heading the ball home just before halftime.
The goal was his third of the season and his first since 28 October, when he scored in Nantes’ 5-3 loss to Monaco.
The 28-year-old has struggled to find his best form, having scored just three goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.
He also fell out of favor with Egypt national team coach Hossam Hassan during the recent Africa Cup of Nations, where Egypt finished fourth.
Mohamed played only 183 minutes in the tournament.
The striker, who joined Nantes from Turkish side Galatasaray in the summer of 2023, has scored 28 goals in 128 appearances across all competitions for the French club.
