The Pharaohs controlled the match from the start, finishing the first half with a commanding 20-10 lead.

With the win, Egypt topped Group A in the main round, which also includes Nigeria, Angola, and Algeria, with four points.

They are two points ahead of second-placed Nigeria and Angola.

Egypt will next face Nigeria on Tuesday, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

The Pharaohs have been in impeccable form throughout the competition, having defeated Gabon 36-25, Angola 41-28, and Uganda 54-13 before their victory over Algeria.

Egypt are bidding for a fourth consecutive African title and a 10th overall, which would see them level with record champions Tunisia.
