Ahly's winter signing, Youssef Belammari, expressed his pride on Sunday at joining what he described as a "world-reputed" club, adding that he aims to win all possible titles with his new team.

The Moroccan fullback signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Ahly on Wednesday, joining from Raja Casablanca as the club seeks a replacement for left-back Ali Maaloul, who departed last summer.

Belammari was also part of Morocco's squad in the Africa Cup of Nations, where the team finished as runners-up.

“I am so happy to join a great club like Ahly,” Belammari told the club's official website on Sunday.

“I am delighted with the royal reception I received from the club’s officials, players, and fans.”

“I chose Ahly because it is a club that chases all possible titles, and I hope to help the club achieve its ambitions.”

“I am proud to play for this world-class club,” he concluded.

Although Belammari has yet to make his debut for the club, he is expected to be part of the squad for Tuesday’s Egyptian League match against Wadi Degla.

Ahly are currently third in the league with 23 points, nine points behind leaders Ceramica Cleopatra, who have played two matches more.
