The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) dispatched its 124th Zad El-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza aid convoy to the strip on Monday, carrying more than 7,000 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, as aid agencies warn of worsening conditions under Israel’s continued restrictions and military operations in violation of the ceasefire.

According to the ERC, the convoy delivered more than 4,500 tonnes of food parcels and flour, 1,400 tonnes of medical and relief supplies, 160 tonnes of baby formula, and 1,000 tonnes of fuel.

The shipment also included winter assistance, with 24,275 items of winter clothing, 28,850 blankets, 680 mattresses, and 540 tents, as Gaza faces cold weather and limited shelter after months of fighting and widespread destruction.

The ERC said the convoy was part of its ongoing role as the national coordinator for Egyptian aid to Gaza. The organization said more than 65,000 volunteers have been involved in relief efforts since the war began.

The latest delivery comes amid continued Israeli military operations in Gaza, which are direct violations of the ceasefire agreement brokered by Cairo, Doha, Ankara, and Washington in October.

Since the outbreak of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Egypt has sent more than 45,000 aid trucks into Gaza, carrying over 800,000 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, according to Egyptian authorities. Cairo says the shipments account for roughly 70 percent of all aid delivered to the territory

In July, the ERC launched the Zad El-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza initiative to deliver urgent aid following five months of an Israeli land, sea, and air blockade on Gaza, which directly caused the first-ever United Nations-declared famine in the Middle East in the strip.

Aid deliveries have included food parcels, flour, water, baby formula, medicines, medical equipment, hygiene kits, shelter materials, and fuel. The aid convoys carried food parcels, flour, water, baby formula, medicines, medical equipment, hygiene kits, relief supplies, shelter materials, and fuel trucks.
