The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) on Thursday dispatched more than 6,185 tons of food, medical, and winter relief to the Gaza Strip through its 127th “Zad Al-Izza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, the organization said.

The convoy, launched early in the morning, comprised multiple trucks carrying urgent humanitarian assistance as part of the Red Crescent’s role as Egypt’s national mechanism for coordinating and channeling aid to Gaza.

According to the organization, the 6,185-ton shipment included more than 3,250 tons of food baskets and flour, over 1,540 tons of relief and medical supplies, about 70 tons of infant formula, and roughly 1,325 tons of petroleum products, aimed at meeting urgent basic needs inside the enclave.

As winter conditions persist, the convoy also carried additional seasonal supplies, including more than 5,960 items of winter clothing, over 17,680 blankets, and around 4,090 tents to shelter displaced families, the Red Crescent said.

The ERC has maintained a continuous presence at the border since the start of the crisis, coordinating the dispatch of assistance through its nationwide logistics network.

Over more than 760 consecutive days, Egypt has sustained what officials describe as the largest and most continuous humanitarian relief operation in modern history, delivering over 800,000 tons of aid to the besieged enclave through the Rafah and Karm Abu Salem crossings despite ongoing access restrictions.

Aid operations are managed through a nationwide logistics network overseen by the Red Crescent and supported by more than 65,000 active volunteers.

According to Egyptian officials, assistance delivered to Gaza has included large-scale food consignments, flour, infant formula, medical supplies and medicines, fuel shipments, winter relief items, and shelter materials, alongside the entry of 214 ambulances, four field hospitals, and around 91,000 tons of fuel to keep hospitals and essential services functioning.

Since late July 2025, Egypt has intensified ground deliveries under the “Zad Al-Izza… From Egypt to Gaza” operation, dispatching successive convoys carrying hundreds of thousands of tons of aid.

The ERC has also coordinated the reception of hundreds of relief flights and maritime shipments from dozens of countries, reinforcing Egypt’s role as the principal humanitarian lifeline into Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli blockade.

Despite the ongoing aid flow, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Tuesday that humanitarian conditions in Gaza remain dire for hundreds of thousands of families.

The UN and its partners currently provide daily bread assistance to at least 43 percent of the population, either free of charge or at a subsidized price of less than $1 for a two-kilogram bundle, in addition to monthly wheat-flour distributions that have reached 1.2 million people so far this month.

OCHA said humanitarian partners have reached more than 7,500 families with tents, tarpaulins, sealing kits, mattresses, and blankets, while winter clothing has been delivered to around 1,400 children across the territory.

Another child died from hypothermia over the weekend, bringing the number of child deaths linked to cold weather to 10, the agency added.

The UN warned that over one million people still require shelter support, calling for sustainable solutions including home-repair toolkits, communal heating spaces, and equipment to clear debris and rubble.

Since Wednesday, protection partners have reached more than 2,300 families with cash vouchers and in-kind winterization assistance, alongside mental health and psychosocial support.
