Egyptian giants Ahly have announced the loan of Slovenian striker Nejc Gradisar to Hungarian side Ujpest FC until the end of the current season.

In a statement, Ahly said the agreement includes an option for Újpest to make the move permanent once the loan spell concludes. The 23-year-old has already departed to join his new club.

Ujpest sporting director Pal Dardai welcomed the signing, praising the forward’s profile and suitability for the team’s needs. “By signing Nejc Gradisar, we have succeeded in bringing an excellent goalscoring striker to Ujpest,” Dárdai said on the club’s official website. “He stands out for his height and attacking strength, which gives us the style of play we need inside the penalty area, and he is also familiar with the Hungarian environment.”

Gradišar joined Ahly in January 2025 for 1 million euros and went on to score 11 goals and provide five assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

Ujpest currently sit ninth in the Hungarian league standings with 23 points.

Meanwhile, Ahly are close to completing the signing of Angolan forward Eltsen Camões as a replacement for the departing Slovenian.
