The 26-year-old forward joins the Cairo giants on a six-month loan reportedly worth $360,000, with an option to make the move permanent for a fee said to be around $1.8 million.

Camões began his career in Portugal, progressing through the youth systems of Marítimo and Sporting CP. He later featured for Marítimo and Nacional before moving to Sweden in 2021 to join second-division side Skellefteå FF.

He enjoyed an impressive spell in Sweden, scoring 37 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions, which earned him a move to top-flight club IK Brage in 2023. There, he made 61 appearances, scoring 26 goals and providing four assists.

In the winter transfer window of 2025, Camões joined Tromsø on a three-year contract. He went on to score 14 goals and register seven assists in 27 matches across all competitions for the Norwegian side.

The striker could make his debut for Ahly against NBE Club in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.

Camões' arrival marks the Cairo giants' sixth acquisition during the current transfer window, following the arrivals of Moroccan defender Youssef Belammari, Petrojet defender Hady Riyad, striker Marwan Othman, defender Amr El-Gazar, and Masry defender Ahmed Eid.

The Red Devils have been active in the market to bolster their frontline following the departure of Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali last summer and the departure of Slovenian forward Nejc Gradisar, who joined Hungarian side Ujpest FC on loan until the end of the season.
