Speaking in a pitchside flash interview with Sky Sports, Marmoush stressed that the team remained united and fully committed from the opening minute.

“I’m very happy to score two goals and get the team to the final,” Marmoush said. “We showed a very good mentality tonight. We were together as a team from the first minute, very focused on the job, and that’s why we’re happy to reach the final.”

The 26-year-old, who joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million in January 2025, netted his first brace for the club at a crucial moment, stepping up in the absence of Erling Haaland.

Marmoush also highlighted the role of his teammates in creating chances, pointing to his positioning and the team’s overall structure as key factors behind his goals.

“We are here to win trophies,” he added. “The team helped me a lot with the positioning and the chances, and I’m happy I could finish them.”

The forward was visibly moved by the support from City fans, who chanted his name at full-time, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.

“It’s amazing,” Marmoush said. “The support from the fans gives us extra energy. We feel it, and it pushes us.”

Fan reactions across social platforms praised Marmoush’s rapid impact, with many dubbing him the “Egyptian Prince” and calling on Pep Guardiola to hand him a starting role in major fixtures, including the upcoming clash against Liverpool.

Manchester City will now look ahead to the EFL Cup final as Marmoush’s confidence and status within Guardiola’s squad continue to grow.
