The statement came in response to recent claims of data leak, after reports by Al-Arabiya said a hacker known as “quellostanco” had claimed that he was selling a stolen EgyptAir database of around 104,000 records, and advertising it on a cybercrime forum.
EgyptAir, Egypt’s national carrier, stressed that all data is stored on the main computers at its main data centre and is subject to strict security procedures and systems implemented in line with the highest approved protection standards within the company.
The company also affirmed that the data is secured by a specialized cybersecurity firm.
