Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held separate phone calls with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, and Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, as part of ongoing coordination with key Arab partners on Gaza and de-ecalating regional tensions.

During his call with Prince Faisal, Abdelatty discussed bilateral relations and regional files, with both sides stressing the priority of de-escalation and advancing political solutions to contain tensions.

On Gaza, the ministers emphasised the need to implement the entitlements of the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan, support the national committee tasked with administering the Strip, expedite the deployment of an international stabilisation force to monitor the ceasefire, and ensure full humanitarian access, early recovery, and reconstruction while preserving Palestinian territorial unity.

The two ministers also discussed preparations for the anticipated Peace Council meeting in Washington, underlining the importance of continued Arab and Islamic coordination to consolidate the truce and reinforce regional stability.

On Sudan, they stressed the urgency of reaching a humanitarian truce leading to a comprehensive ceasefire and launching an inclusive Sudanese-led political process, while preserving Sudan’s unity and national institutions.

The call further addressed Red Sea security, with Abdelatty reaffirming Egypt’s position that governance arrangements for the Red Sea should be limited to littoral states and rejecting external roles in managing the vital maritime corridor.
