"CAF strongly condemns the unacceptable incidents which took place during the CAF Champions League fixture between Ahly of Egypt and ASFAR of Morocco in Cairo on Sunday, 15 February 2026," the governing body said in a statement.
"CAF has referred the matter to the Disciplinary Board for investigation and has called for appropriate action to be taken against those proven responsible," it added.
The Group B match in Cairo ended in a goalless draw, with both sides advancing to the quarter-finals.
Ahly finished top of the group with 10 points, one ahead of the Moroccan side.
Play was halted for several minutes after some Ahly supporters threw water bottles onto the pitch.
