"The game against Esperance will be difficult for both sides, but our goal is to win and qualify for the semi-finals," Thorup said on the club’s official website after the draw at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters in Cairo.

Ahly will play the first leg in Tunisia from March 13-15, with the return leg in Cairo scheduled a week later.

"Playing the first leg away gives us an advantage, as the second leg will be at home with the support of our fans," he added.

Ahly reached the last eight as Group B leaders with 10 points, finishing one point ahead of Morocco’s AS FAR.

Reflecting on the group stage, Thorup said, "That is now in the past," emphasizing that the team’s determination to win every match remains unchanged.
