As part of its “Iftar for One Million Fasting People” campaign inside Gaza, the Egyptian Red Crescent has delivered more than 180,000 food baskets, 570 tonnes of flour, and over 870 tonnes of medicines, relief supplies, and personal care items.

The shipments also included more than 1,575 tonnes of fuel and winter assistance items, such as warm clothing, blankets, mattresses, and tents, to help families cope with harsh weather conditions.

In parallel, the Egyptian Red Crescent continues its humanitarian efforts at the Rafah border crossing on the Egyptian side, where it is receiving and facilitating the departure of the 17th batch of wounded, injured, and sick Palestinians.

Volunteers are assisting them in completing necessary procedures and providing support services.

The organization offers an integrated package of relief services to Palestinians, including psychosocial support for children, family reunification services, the distribution of suhoor and iftar meals, provision of heavy clothing and personal care items, and the distribution of “return bags” to those heading back to the Gaza Strip.

The Rafah crossing’s reopening, the first since May 2024, took place as part of the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, signed during Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace in October.

Since October 2023, Egypt has delivered over 800,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza, accounting for approximately 70 percent of all aid sent to the strip, supported by the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers.
