The talks underscored the strategic weight of Cairo–Riyadh ties amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts to consolidate a truce in Gaza and relaunch a political process based on a two-state solution. stated the Egyptian Presidency.
Upon arrival at the crown prince’s private residence in Jeddah, the two leaders held a closed-door bilateral meeting, followed by a Ramadan iftar banquet, according to the presidency statement.
President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality, and asked that his greetings be conveyed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
He also congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the anniversary of Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day, wishing the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
El-Sisi highlighted the significant development in relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, stressing keenness on advancing cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.
For his part, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed President El-Sisi’s visit to the Kingdom, affirming the centrality of the longstanding ties between the two countries and expressing his aspiration to further strengthen them in ways that serve the interests of both peoples.
Regarding Gaza, the two leaders reaffirmed the need for all parties to adhere to the ceasefire agreement and to implement US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
They also called for increasing humanitarian assistance entry into the Strip without obstacles and for the swift launch of early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
The meeting reaffirmed their rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land, stressing that a comprehensive political process leading to the implementation of the two-state solution remains the only viable path to achieving lasting peace in the region.
The discussions also covered a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern, according to the statement.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of avoiding escalation and tensions in the region, supporting peaceful solutions, strengthening Arab solidarity, and upholding states’ sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity without interference in their internal affairs.
Shortly after the meeting, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman accompanied President El-Sisi to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to bid him farewell.
