The White Knights are first in the table on 37 points, level with Pyramids FC.

Title holders Ahly remain third with 37 points after drawing 1-1 with ZED FC on Saturday.

The match is pivotal for both teams in their bids for the league crown, with little margin for error.

A draw would hand arch-rivals Ahly a welcome advantage at the summit.

Under the league’s current format, the top seven teams advance to a mini-league to determine the champions, while the remaining 14 sides enter a separate competition to decide the four relegation places.

Zamalek responded to their Egypt Cup elimination with consecutive league victories over Haras El-Hodoud and ZED FC to remain firmly in the title race.

Coach Moatamed Gamal will still be without defender Mahmoud “El-Wensh” Hamdy due to a muscle injury.

Palestinian winger Adam Kaied also remains sidelined with a muscular problem but is expected to return for the next league match against Ittihad of Alexandria.

Zamalek are on a six-game winning streak in the league.

Pyramids FC, meanwhile, are set to have a full squad available, with the exception of long-term absentee winger Ramadan Sobhi.

Both teams will be targeting victory to seize the initiative in the title race.
