The Foreign Ministry said it was tracking developments involving Egyptian diplomatic missions, particularly in Tehran and Tel Aviv, amid the rapidly unfolding hostilities.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held phone calls with heads of Egyptian missions in Gulf states and other affected countries to review security conditions and ensure the safety of Egyptian communities abroad, the ministry said.
Missions were instructed to raise their level of readiness and maintain round-the-clock monitoring to provide consular assistance if needed.
The ministry urged Egyptians in the region to exercise caution, remain in contact with embassies and consulates, and follow instructions issued by local authorities.
It said no injuries or casualties among Egyptian nationals had been reported so far as a result of the ongoing escalation, adding that the situation remains under constant review.
The developments follow large-scale US and Israeli strikes on Iran announced by US President Donald Trump, who said Washington had begun “major combat operations.” Explosions were reported in Tehran, which described the assault as “aerial Zionist aggression,” despite an ongoing diplomatic track between Iran and the United States.
Iran responded by firing ballistic missiles at Israel and targeting US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, according to regional authorities and international media reports, raising fears of a wider regional confrontation.
