Sheikh El-Tayyeb strongly denounced the “blatant attacks” on UAE territory and other Arab countries, emphasizing that such actions violate the principles of good neighbourliness, according to a statement.
During the call, both leaders stressed the need for restraint and an immediate halt to escalating military tensions in the region.
They also highlighted the importance of prioritizing dialogue and political solutions to resolve disputes and prevent further deterioration of regional security and stability.
The conversation comes amid heightened regional tensions following a series of missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran that have struck multiple US‑linked sites and other locations across the Middle East, including in the Gulf, in retaliation for the US‑Israeli military campaign against Iran.
The UAE said its air defence systems intercepted the vast majority of Iranian missiles and drones, including more than 170 of 186 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones.
Despite the high interception rate, some debris fell on land after being destroyed in the air, it added, noting that the attacks have resulted in at least three deaths, including foreign workers, and dozens of injuries, most of them minor.
