Several Western countries have kept their travel advisories for Egypt unchanged, despite rising regional military tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

The statement followed a US update on Tuesday to its travel guidance for several Middle Eastern countries. Washington raised the travel risk level for Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Qatar, and the UAE to Level 3, advising visitors to “reconsider travel” amid ongoing military escalation.

However, Egypt remains at Level 2, the same as before the recent escalation, with travellers advised to “exercise increased caution.”

The foreign ministry said it had been in contact with partner countries to stress Egypt’s security and stability and saw no need to change current travel advisories.

It highlighted Egypt’s role as a strategic hub for potential evacuation operations, noting that state institutions are fully prepared to assist foreign nationals if needed.

Canada and Ireland have likewise kept their travel guidance for Egypt unchanged.

The ministry said these decisions reflect international confidence in Egypt’s stability despite security challenges in the region.

After the coordinated US-Israeli strikes on Iran, the US State Department urged Americans in 14 Middle Eastern countries to “depart now.”

The warning came as Iran increased retaliatory attacks on US-linked sites in the region, including in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

As the conflict has escalated, several countries have closed or restricted their airspace for safety reasons.

Egyptian airports remain open and operational and have served as diversion and contingency points for international flights.
